PROLOGUE

The noise was loud in the hallway; several conversations mixed making every word too confused to be distinguished. But somehow, it seemed that all the voices quoted the same names: her friend’s, the boy’s, who had declared to her the day before and his best friend’s. What the hell was happening?
opened the way through the crowd around the three that were part of the general subject of school. When she saw , ran to him, shaking him:
- Don’t stand there! He’s in pain and will say things that he shouldn’t, go!!
Despite not being a friend of this guy, nor the other, felt some sympathy for them. After all, they always talked, occasionally, when one of them tried to get close to . When understood what she was saying, he followed her and grabbed a nervous that nearly hit the face of his "theoretically" best friend.
- How could you do it? - Screamed loudly. – You knew how I felt!
- Yeah I knew! So what? - asks with a shrug and a cynical smile on his face.
He had betrayed their friendship, but he didn’t care. Wasn’t feeling guilty or something, since he knew what he wanted and when he wanted, giving him freedom to act as he wanted.
- . - whispered, holding the boy’s face. – Look at me!
- , you used to say he was cute by chasing after me, right? - , her best friend, said. – You can keep him. – Continued, laughing.
- You can be my best friend, , but shut the fuck up. – That’s all she said, making everyone shut up and stop with the laughter.
A murmur began surrounding her name and ’s, but she didn’t care, just had to take the boy out of there. - C'mom, , let's take him outside.
said that, pulled and dragged him out of the hall, followed by . The whispers continued as they walked into the courtyard, which was a little emptier because of the high concentration of people who remained inside. Then, when they realized, was sitting and serious, looking somewhere with eyes and resting his chin in his hand. Seeing that he was stood, turned to , who said without any question:
- and did you-know-what last night, we were at that party. Soon after the party, someone posted the video on the Internet. I had to hold him not to go and do something to Diviney.
The girl sighed, rubbing her face.
- I don’t know how I didn’t expect that from .
- Perhaps because she’s your best friend, . - he shrugged.
- Thank God you live with him and prevented him from doing something stupid.
- Well, just put him inside my house because his parents traveled. If I didn’t stop him, probably his mother would do it.
- Yeah, maybe.
The two stayed silent and sat on either side of . He remained silent and folded his arms. Just wanted silence and time to think.

ONE

A nice smell came to the girl who was entering the small apartament which she lived. Crossed the livingroom to let her purse somewhere on the bedroom and went back to the kitchen. was cooking something, while was just sitting on a chair, drinking one of his alcoholic drinks, as usual.
- You should stop drinking. – she said, taking the glass out of his hand.
- !!! – He cried, getting up and pulling her by the waist.
- Let me go, , I’m gonna fall. – she complained, laughing.
- Stop playing! - said louder, making them stop. – The kitchen is small already, you want me to get burned? - You look like a housewife, ! – laughed, making laugh too.
- Someone has to be, right? – He followed his friend, making the other look at them with a look that could kill.
- Look, I accepted to come live with you because I'm too old to live with my parents, but it doesn’t mean that I am a housewife!
- Hey, we also came to live here because we didn’t want to stay with their parents forever, . - said with a shrug and finally letting go, who led the glass with the rest of drink, to the sink.
- True, we agreed to rent this place together. - agreed. – The point is that you are a better housewife than us, if wasn’t for you I would probably eat just frozen food.
just laughed, wondering what he would do without those two and what they would be without him. Well, ’d probably remain the same, only changing the fact that she would leave the house a mess and eat frozen food. would probably have more problems. He knew too well to understand how he would be if he hadn’t to talk.
The noisy two left the kitchen, going to the living room to watch any channel. The girl threw herself awkwardly on the couch and laid her head on his lap while watched her compulsively change channels. She was heading for one of the movie channels, if it wasn’t for a story to make her stop on the news:
- Another murder occurred in Sydney. Young Diana Trevor was brutally murdered within her own apartment--
- ! COME HERE! - shouted, recognizing the girl’s photo on the television screen.
- What?
- You remember this girl?
- Hm, her face is familiar. What happened? - He asks, sitting arm couch and resting his arm on the backrest behind his friend.
- She died. – said, shocked to remember she talked about her with few days ago. Would it be a coincidence?
- Experts failed to find any proof for raise possible suspects murder. More news about this case at eight o'clock.
- Wow. - said, kind of stunned.
- Really bizarre. - murmured observing the screen and biting his nail.
- Hey stop nail biting, they will get ugly. - said, slapping his hand, who faced her from below.
- You’re so annoying. - he said, snorting and laughing. – But I can’t live without you.
- He criticizes and then praises, isn’t he cute, ? - She laughs along with the friend, squeezing ’s cheeks, who grimaced while trying to get rid of her hands.

After dinner, took the phone and walked through the corridor dialing her friend’s numbers. Waited two rings, already closing her bedroom’s door and throwing herself on the bed, facing down.
- Hello? – ’s crying voice answered.
- ? – She said, worried. – It’s ... What happened?
- Don’t you watch the news with those two idiots you live with? – She asked, kind of angry.
- Hey, calm down! I told you, learn to respect your friends and they respect you. - The other snapped, already sitting on the bed and rubbing her forehead. - But yes, I watched the news. Diana isn’t it?
- Yes! How could anyone kill her like that, it was so cruel, tell me! It must have be a serial killer.
could snap back, saying that it was too early to jump to conclusions, because Diana was the second to die in our city. But she couldn’t say she wasn’t scared.
- Do you think we’re the next? - whispered. – The dead girls were our friends.
She had noticed that too and this was making she nervous just by thinking, but she had to comfort her friend and not Just say things that would make her more desperate.
- Don’t say this! – I said. – Do you want me to go there tomorrow?
- It would be great, Will Just come the day after tomorrow to help me with the heaviest things on the move, but I don’t wanna be alone in here.
- Ok then. I thought that you’d had packed up everything.
- It was supposed to have ended, but I could not drag Diviney here before, you know.
Still holding the phone, snorts lightly. Who knew that after accepting and corresponding to ’s declaration, she would betray him in the same day, was really dating seriously with ’s ex-best friend, Diviney for almost six years. It was absurd, it was crazy, but there they are, together and ignoring the existence of Clemmensen. That's exactly why I can’t quote ’s name in the house and can’t speak about when she was with her friend. It was the life she chose when didn’t opt for "following" one of the two.
- I understand. Well, I’ll go there tomorrow after work.
- Okay. - said, with a nasal voice, probably caused by the crying. – Bye, ‘till tomorrow.
- Bye. – she answered, before hung the phone.
Thus, she lay down in bed and watched the ceiling of her small bedroom as she thought about the murders of her school friends. Never talked to them, just did this. She perfectly remembers when she received an SMS from her friend saying that Diana had moved back to Sydney. She was happy, however, made no difference, she hadn’t talked to her since... Well, since three years ago when she lived with and .
She heard some steps in the hallway and made her disperse. She pay attention to the steps and guessed:
- ?
The steps on the hallway and the bedroom’s door were opened, revealing the face of the one she called. With a smile, he approached of the bed and threw him by her side.
- What do you want with me? – Asked, turning to watch her.
- Can you take the phone back to the living room, please? – She asked turning her face and smiling.
- Lazy ass, get up and go there!
- Oh, pleaaase . - she asked, laughing. Turned aside and rested her head in his hand, looking at him from above.
- Ok, ok, I’ll take it – He gave in, picking the phone, but not getting up.
- Aren’t you going?
- I’ll go, I’m just enjoying you mattress a little longer.
- Sure. - laughed, rolling her eyes.
She laid down, still aside and felt him pull her closer, snuggling into his arms and putting her face in his chest. His hand slid down her back, caressing it. They stood like this for several minutes, making the girl sleepy. She liked when he was just so loving, that happened frequently in the last three years. It was being exactly as they were before stop talking to and , just the way she liked him at first sight and became his friend. But living in the same house, it was obvious that they had been together a few times, times that were perfect to stay closer to him, understand him. But it wasn’t something repetitive or a relationship. They stood that way.
put his lips on her forehead and pulled a strand of hair behind her ear.
- I’ll let you sleep, you must be tired. – He said in a low voice, so Just she could hear. – Good night . Watching him get up with the phone in hand, she lay more comfortably on the bed, the light was turned off and the door closed. Sleep gradually got her.

TWO

With the street wet, due to the rain that fell during the night and morning, walked with her purse on her shoulder and arms - covered by the sleeves of the jacket - folded across her chest. She had just got off the bus and walked toward the building where had moved in with her high heeled boots tapping the street stones. Pulling further the sleeves of her jacket to be able to cover her hands, opened the gate and entered the small building, went to the first block, going up the stairs. As the building where she lived, her friend’s had no doorman, just a gate with an intercom. As was open and she knew the floor and apartment number, has no reason to call her.
Finally stopped in front of the door and rang the bell. Take a look around before finally hearing the sound of footsteps on the inside and finally see the door open.
- Dammit, you take too much time to get here. - complained, laughing and hugging her friend.
- Not true, I said I would come after work. – She argued, returning the hug and entering the house.
- Ignore the mess, as I've told you about it by phone. - she said, exhausted.
- That’s okay. How are you feeling today? - She asked, seeing the small dark circles and red eyes of her friend.
- Well, I guess. I cried what I had to cry, even if I want to cry every time I remember - she says, sitting in the chair. - You're not going to the funeral?
- I would go, but I don’t want to walk around alone. You believe it or not, , I still think that the fact that the girls were people we know, is not a coincidence.
- I never said I don’t believe, just prefer not to think like this.
- It should. Whoever he is, he may be behind us now. - seriously says, getting up and going to the kitchen.
follows her, leaning in the doorway of the passage where the friend was. She was watching her get hot chocolate at two Starbucks’ mugs, when she offered , she accepted. Sipping slowly and feeling the taste of chocolate, just thinking about what said: "I still think that the fact that the girls were people we know, is not a coincidence." . Indeed, there seemed to be no coincidence, but she didn’t feel threatened by it. As if the people that were being "eliminated" didn’t make part of her life anymore, this is a fact.
- I want to see , I miss him. – she say, leaving her thoughts aside, she didn’t want too see her friend more sad. – How are you?
- Good – she opens a half smile. – Oh, he keeps saying that wants to see you again… You should stop by, tomorrow.
- Oh, I can’t... – She laughed slightly and sat on one of the chairs, close to her friend. – I’m not going to explain why, because you already know.
- Yeah. – she agreed, rolling her eyes, remembering what meant.
The silence fell on them while taking the hot chocolate. wanted to be able to stay with her friend until came to visit, she was too terrified to be alone. Besides badly enough to be thinking about it all night. But she couldn’t. It wasn’t so easy to go to her friend's house when one of the friends who lived with her was a person who doesn’t want to see her any way. She still remembers exactly what she had done to . Regret it in parts, like deceiving him, but not to stay with her boyfriend who was with her until now. She had never spoken about it with , after all she understood that her friend was trying to leave this kind of issue separate enough not to cause problems for either side. It would have to settle to be alone when she left the other, until the next morning when came to see her.
- Can I ask you something that I’m wanting to, since three years ago? – asked, swallowing the rest of hot chocolate and watching her friend gasping. By counting the years, she could guess what the other was going to ask. Seeing her nod, she clears her throat and says:
- You and … Well, you know… dated or something? I know you don’t talk about him or , I can imagine why, but I’m curious. After all that mess that when I made left you this way, you thought he was cute and almost killed me when that video was leaked to see him suffer.
was silent for a minute, digesting the speech of her friend. During all the years she did not even quoted the names and , and suddenly, just ask a question of this kind. But it was true about the past, she didn’t deny it.
- 's like my brother since I met him - said first and shut up, measuring her words of how she would talk about . - And ... Well, we get along, after all I've been his best friend since and I called him to live with us.
remarked the other for a moment, with a cynical smile on his face.
- You haven’t answered my question. Silence is consent... You've really kissed him, haven’t you? – She asked, fearlessly.
- Well... Yes, since you won’t shut up until you hear my confirmation. - said finally. – We kissed sometimes, at other times we are just friends and that’s it, no biggie - shrugs.
- "We kissed" hm... - analyzes. - Okay, I think I got what’s implied in your speech.
- Idiot! - the other laughs, kicking the shin of her friend.
The time they spent together was enough to distract and make her not feel so "persecuted" as she was. She also decided to go to the funeral of Diana, and when was about to leave, and was ready to leave and lock the apartment. The two went together to the bus stop, left first. remained on the bus stop, alone, for a few more minutes.

After the noise of the bus is away, silence prevailed for what seemed the entire neighborhood. opened the gate of the building and closed it before continuing the path to the entrance and the stairs. Luck she lived on the first floor, not having to climb several flights of steps. Already with her keys in hand, she unlocked the door and entered the apartment so well known. and were sprawled on the couches watching television.
- I’m back, kids. - said, passing by them and going to her room.
She dropped the bag in its usual place and began to undress, taking her bath towel and headed for the bathroom. Just needed a hot bath and a good night of sleep.
With a rolled towel to her wet hair and another around the body, brushed her teeth and went back to the bedroom. Apparently the two were still watching TV, she could hear the noise coming from the living room. Entered the bedroom and changed, putting her pajamas and slippers on her feet, brushed her hair and finally made a wrong done bun. She took the towels into the service area, and after, she threw herself on the same sofa as .
- What are you watching? - Asked watching moving on the couch to give her space.
- Spiderman. - said, never taking his eyes off the screen.
- Again? - Laughs. Lost count of how many times she'd seen those two watching that movie.
The silence was her answer, making her notice that they - really - were concentrated.
- Well, I’ll go to sleep, good night. - she said, getting up and following the corridor.
She went into her room and sat on the bed, taking her laptop and connecting it to check her e-mails, since neither of them paid attention to her. She wasn’t hungry also, and then only would see some things on the internet and she could sleep.
She was typing replies to emails she had received when she saw opened her door and put his head inside.
- What’s wrong ‘lil ? - asked, looking at him over the notebook screen.
- See if you’re already asleep.
- Why? Are you going to party all night long ? - She laughs, calling him to enter. So he does, getting closer and sitting behind her.
- Out there. - he says, sitting in a better position and resting his chin on the girl's bare shoulder.
- Funny. – she say low, pressing the "send" button on her e-mail. Just a response to what her boss asked her to do, some files that she should have in the pendrive in the morning.
- I can see some jealousy. - whispers in her ear, making her shiver.
- Shut up! - she lets out a loud laugh. – Why would I be jealous of you… Going out at night... I don’t know where... Probably bringing women into the house...
- See? Jealousy! - He laughed, kissing her shoulder. - Stay calm, I'm not leaving. Don’t know why you think all this, I never brought home any woman ... Unlike .
’s nasal laugh could be heard, as she hung up the notebook and rose to leave him at her desk. Still standing, watches lying on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
- Since you're here, make me sleep, like yesterday - she laughed, pushing him to the other side of her pretty big bed, since both fit without problems or being kicked away. Turns on her lamp that was on the table and turns the lights off, lying on the bed and covering.
- You’re starting to get spoiled, because I just kept waiting for you to sleep one day ! - He laughed, lying on its side to accommodate her in his arms.
- Nobody told you to do it once . You know how I'm – she said, holding him under the covers and feeling his scent emanating from his neck. - Who looks, , for example, thinks that I'm super sweet and cute, or maybe gay. - he mumbles, watching her eyes closed and deep breathing.
- Haha, I do not mind you being sweet and cute. And we both know that you are not gay. - she lets out a laugh and he laughs too, thinking about exactly what had gone through her mind.
- "We" know? - laughed down, lowering his face and kissing ’s cheek. -And you even more, don’t you, smartass? - Poking her, laughing.
- Uh-huh. - she whispers, feeling his breath hitting her face. Open her eyes, watching him closely. - Yeah, I know.
He smiles, looking into her eyes and approaches again, as he had done before. Once he sealed their lips, sliding his hand to her waist, bringing her closer as possible. responded calmly to the kiss, letting her hand on 's neck and scratching it lightly. was right, something was implicit in her speech earlier. It wasn’t the first time they were exchanging caresses, as well as had already gone further than that. Neither denied, even to who was always poking them as if they were a couple. They might even be, but not explicitly assuming, just when they were alone. With a bite on her lower lip, he ends the kiss, watching her open her eyes to return the stare. A smile on her face is drawn, making him smile together.
- I always miss this. - he whispers, pulling her hair in off her face.
- You can do it again when you miss it, I don’t care. - she grinned, making he laugh.
- You’re smartass, . - says, his voice low. – Do you think it's easy to take courage to come here to be sniffing at you and stuff?
- And why is it difficult? - She rolls her eyes. - You know I'm not going to give break up with you or cheat on you if you declare or something. He went silent, staring at a point behind her. Seeing how he frowned beneath her arms, she realized what had just said.
- Sorry... - she whispers, almost speechless by the guilt of having said something that brought so many memories. How could she talk so much nonsense without thinking about how people feel about it? - Sorry, .
His eyes turn to her and his body softens again. She takes a deep breath, noticing how he had been so strange in front of her. Couldn’t let this happen again.
- That’s okay. - he sighs, taking his hand to her face and stroking. – Don’t worry, it was just a moment.
She takes a deep breath, a little relieved when she is surprised by ’s lip stuck in hers furiously. She returned the kiss with such urgency as it was given and sighed as she felt his hands behind her back walking. Gradually, the emergency ceases and becomes tender, an embarassed appeared before her eyes.
- Sorry about this, yeah. - he sighs, making her laugh.
- Oh, , shut up! - still laughing, rolling her eyes and seeing him laugh. She stretches out to look at the clock behind him scoring 11:20pm. Sigh. - Okay, no jokes, I need to sleep to wake up early tomorrow.
- Okay, no jokes. - he laughs, watching her close her eyes and settle into his chest.
Within minutes, he felt a deep breath, showing that she had fallen asleep. continued stroking her hair for a few moments, before returning his eyes to the clock and see that it was past midnight. It was time to act.

A ring on the phone, in the middle of the night, made wake up. She patted the bed beside her and didn’t feel ’s presence. She sighed and stood up. Her cell phone was in her bag yet. When she grabit, she could read the following message: "I still think it is no coincidence. I'm going to my mother's house in Melbourne! Tell for me? Xx " . At first, she thought it was strange because of the hour. But had done it before, fleeing to his mother's house in the middle of the night, going to the airport and taking the first flight to the city where her mother lived.

THREE

The day was quiet in the office where worked. I was doing all the things that had been requested by e-mail the night before, printing files that have been delivering applications and some officials who would use. Her cell phone vibrated in her purse when she came to sit at her desk. The name " Diviney" flashed on the display but she couldn’t answer the phone. Ignored the call and took the phone – the one on her dask – from the hanger, dialing his number. Hardly had a ring, when she heard his concerned voice:
- ? Geez, why don’t you answer your phone? – he asked. - If you were a person that called me, you’d know that I can’t answer the phone in service, . - she laughs, rolling her eyes. - But say, what you want?
- What happened to ? thought about thousands of things that could have happened to her friend, like the killer has caught her, when she remembered the SMS on your mobile.
- She went to Melbourne. - replies, checking her cell phone and confirms the message from the night before.
- Why didn’t she tell me? - He asks, defeated. – She could have called me before!
- Well, she sent me a message in the middle of the night, I only remembered it now. - says, tossing the phone back on the table. - She was scared because of these murders of the people close to us and should have fled in fear of being the next. - I think it’s strange too, so I called you, to know if she was okay or if something had happened. - she heard him say. - But that's okay, knowing that she went to Melbourne is much better, as it has done this before. I will try to talk to her later.
- If you do, tell her to call me. - said, before saying goodbye and hung up.
didn’t understand why hadn’t send a message to explaining everything at once, so she wouldn’t left it at her friend's hand, but decided not to worry about it. Accommodated better in her chair and returned to what was doing. The sooner we finish the job, the better.

The afternoon dragged slowly, and wouldn’t returnt from their jobs before 5:30pm, leaving alone, now she had the time to herself and to organize their beautiful apartment. She picked up her clothes that were on the floor of her room and passed by her friends’ room to finally get their clothes to a washing machine, which she let turned on, while vacuum cleaner going through every inch of the place. Oddly enough, 's room was tidier then everywhere else, leaving her proud - something that she wasn’t of herself. There was nothing in the way, only the clothes she had placed for washing, which eased the work with the vacuum on the carpet.
Once she turned it off, she looked around and noticed how it was organized. In addition, she remembered that probably that was the only room in the house that she didn’t used to enter - different from ’s, she entered almost every day to pick up the TV remote that unfortunately he always carried it to his nest like it was just his. The closet was closed and locked, which was strange, not because it’s bizarre to lock it, but because it made she want to tweak it. Above the dresser were some portraits and pictures of them together, some with too, which made her happy. She liked him more than she showed when talking. On top of the beside table a lamp and a clock, on his desk, only some papers in order, probably things of work.
Giving up tinkering in his dresser drawers - which would be really an invasion of privacy, but still, something was calling her there – she dragged the vacuum cleaner into the hall and drove to ’s room, leaving her totally discouraged seeing that there she would have all the work that she hadn’t in ’s.
At the end of the day, after she had bathed and put a light clothing, was the first to arrive, cursing a lot, because have arranged his room:
- ! – He screamed. – WHY DID YOU CLEANED?
- Because it was horrible. – she said, rolling her eyes. – This really is a no thanking!
- I left my money right here. – He pointed to his beside table. – WHERE DID YOU PUT IT?
- I took it. – she laughed, watching him open his eyes even more and coming to her direction wanting to kill her. – HEY HEY, I’M KIDDING. I put it on your drawer, so it wouldn’t fly or be sucke by the vaccum.
- I almost tought about throwing you out of the window – He sang. – I need this money if I want to go out today.
- Typical, you’re going to party all night long. Please, don’t drive, take a cab and don’t bring women here.
- You spoil all the fun!
- That’s my intention – she smiled. – Besides, I didn’t cleaned the house for you to come with anyone and mess everything I cleaned.
rolled his eyes again, but without complaining, locked himself in the bedroom, changed his clothes and went to eat something. This was enough time for an exhausted walk in the door. He went to his room without greeting anyone, leaving the other two concerned. But he had been like this since a few days ago, without even saying anything, but after a good bath he’s back to normal.
said and done, while was watching television and cooking instant noodles, he appeared in the kitchen and hugged her from behind, kissing her face:
- Hi . - said.
- Hey .
- Thanks for cleaning my room. – continued, still hugging her and with his chin resting on her shoulder.
- As if I had something to clean. – she laughed low. – You’re more organized than me with that room.
He stood silent, just snuffing her neck, feeling the soap’s scent.
- Hey, you two! - entered the kitchen. – Can you stop making out in front of me? If I can’t bring women here, you have to stop doing this in front of me.
- We aren’t doing anything, . - looked at him, laughing. – I’m just making my dinner, since you’re selfish and didn’t want to cook anything for me.
- And I’m just watching cooking her dinner form a little. – said.
- If that’s so, I’m Homer Simpson, ok?
- Ok, you can bring women if you want, but it would be great if you didn’t, you know. Tomorrow is Saturday and I want to enjoy my time in home without worrying to see an stranger using my bathroom. – rolled eyes, as soos as let her go when he noticed she would put the noodles in the plate. – Do you want some?
- Please, – He said, smiling.
- Okay, I’ll bring a girl when you’re not on your day off – said whistling, while goingo away.
- At least He won’t bring any today – laughed, sitting at the table.
finished mixing the spice and put one plate in front of the other.
- Eat this I’ll cook another one to me – she said with a smile. – You are luck that I’m a good girl today.
- Thanks – He agreed, taking the fork she handed him and started eating.
As the water boiled, ’ phone started ringing on the pocket of her jeans shorts. She just took off and looked at the display Shau’s name again. Didn’t want to take it in front of , but he would find more odd if she went out to take it, then she did it while opening the package of noodles.
- Tell me - said simply.
- Uh ... You're stressed? - asked at the other side.
- No, I'm dribbling a package of ramen noodles and the phone between shoulder and ear, so... Speak! - She laughed, pouring it into the pan.
- Nothing much, was wondering if you could talk to .
- Weren’t you going to try to call her? I didn’t even try!
- I called, but it only rings and sometimes gives out of service. - She heard him say. - Well, I think she should be fine right? But she could send news.
- True - agrees. - But don’t worry, or frown, it gives wrinkles - laugh. – I’ll try to talk to her if I discover anything I’ll call you back.
- Okay! - He said. - A good dinner, ! - And laughed.
- Thanks - replied. - See you.
Once they hung, the noodle was ready. She put it on a plate and mixed seasoning, bringing to the table and sitting in front of , who ate and still had no expression at all. After 's hand passing in front of his eyes and laughed slightly, he awoke from his thoughts and smiled slightly before start chewing again.

FOUR

- I’m leaving, don’t wait me up - laughed, going out.
was lying on ’s lap, who rested her feet on the coffee table and stroked his hair. They were watching a movie that passed in any one of the three hundred channels available on that cable TV. Clemmensen almost fell asleep, but remained with one hand going through her leg, leaving it even more comfortable.
When the movie ended, it was 11:30pm at night and was a little sleepy, but was sleeping like an angel on her thighs. She ran his hand across his face, whispering his name as a request to get up and go to sleep in his bed.
- Have the movie ended? - He asked, staring at the already off television and rubbing his eyes with his hands. - Sorry, I slept.
- No problem - she laughed. - If you weren’t sleeping so cute I would have moved my leg to wake you up - said, seeing him sit beside her and stretching.
- Haha, just sleeping, right? - he muttered.
- Shut up, - rolled her eyes, rising from the couch.
- Are you going to sleep? - He asked, standing up next.
She just nodded in response, turning to go into the hallway. Before she could walk, he approached her and kissing her neck, holding her by the waist. A sigh came from her mouth and gave her courage to turn around to face the cause of the chill that was spreading through her body. The eyes stared at her more closely, as he approached, until their eyes were closed and their lips sealed. 's arms wrapped around his neck, giving him the freedom to deepen the kiss, that was becoming more intense. Since ’s hands were moving freely in the girl’s back under the black shirt he wore. Stumbling, they walked together down the hallway to reach the door that would lead to the rooms.
- Be careful not to end up in 's room - said, laughing, as she remained glued to him.
He just laughed in response, but looked up to confirm if they were in the right bedroom when the door opened.
finally felt something soft on back, when was gently pushed back; stayed with his knees resting on the edge of the bed, getting on top. She opened her eyes slowly while trying to get rid of his white t-shirt, and just looking around before throwing it anywhere, she noticed that they were in his room. It has a few weeks since the last time she was there laying in bed and feel him possessing her. As soon as she get rid of her blouse, she felt his lips landing on her neck, sliding to her cervix and finally move forward on her breasts - still protected by the bra. It didn’t take long until he could open it and throw it away, massaging her breasts with both hands, eyes closed, she felt that good feeling that only he alone could cause. ’s magic hands stopped their work, making her protest, but soon felt his lips parted sucking her neck and doing the same way to her breasts, now uncovered, and finally felt the caress on them. opened her lips and didn’t contain a few moans from leaving and spending chills throughout her body.
She took her hands ’s neck, scratching from his neck to his back, leaving him erect with the feeling he felt. With a smile, she continued sliding his hands down until they reach the front of the button that keeps his pants in the body. With ease, managed to get rid of it and left them to fall to his knees. Noting that feat, gets up and finishes taking off the pants of his legs; just settled better, watching him and laying her head on a pillow of white pillows that were on the bed. He went back to bed and left her without shorts, both with only the innermost covered by just a piece of cloth that would soon be thrown into a corner of the room.
felt 's lips pressing her strength, giving her furious kisses. Let her hands slide freely over the side of his body until you feel the elastic of his boxer. Without the shame usually felt when she did it, pulled it slightly, revealing the erection that was hide. When she throws it to the side, stuck their bodies, leaving them to feel his erection even more closely hitting her leg. With a naughty smile in the midst of kisses, she felt his fingers freely touching her intimacy. She let out a moan that, to , was an approval, making him continued to touch her and rub her clitoris. A groan escaped from her mouth, stopping the kiss.
She opened her eyes slowly and smiled when she saw his lips quite red, his forehead with a few drops of sweat. Stopping to caress her, took off her underwear and played quietly beside the bed, crawling onto the bedside table and picking up a condom. picked up his package with the hands with a smile and opened it, pulling it out. She felt his teeth around her neck, giving her bites while wearing a condom in his erection. So the best sensation took her when she felt him inside her. looked up and better positioned to penetrate her, keeping the same rhythm. The moans come out of ’s mouth louder and her hands remained on his back, pressing her nails on his skin and leaving him even more excited.
Each drop of sweat on her body could be felt when falling on her, exhausted. He separated from her by throwing himself in the space next to her, calming his breath.
- I know I said something similar yesterday but... I missed you. - he smiled at her, pulling her closer. - And I feel like feeling this forever. - If anyone listen to it, wouldn’t think we live together - laughed, looking at his sweaty face. He pulled a few strands of hair that were stucked to his brow before continuing: - But I missed you too, .
His smile remained watching her put her head on his chest. Deep breathing took over the place, falling asleep.
The clock struck 12:15am. I felt like I was late, but remained there, watching her sleep for a moment longer before finally getting up. With a shiver, woke up, feeling naked and only covered by a sheet. She patted the bed and felt cold and empty at his side. The eyes were slow to get used to the darkness, but when they did, was able to notice that she was still on 's room but... Where was he? She looked at the clock on the bedside table and marked three hours and one minute. The bed, besides empty, was showing no sign of warmth, not the side that remained.
She got up and dressed, holding her hair like a knot. A strange feeling came over to her heart, so she turned the lights on not to be surprised by what were in the path. With the light on, the room remained the same. The unmade bed, the room clean, even his clothes were no longer on the floor. She decided she would see if was in the living room, even if her bad feeling said no. Before turning out the light, she noticed that the desk was different. But so what was different? This changes nothing. But no, her feeling pushed her there.
Only papers and more papers, no biggie, just gave indication that someone ran a hand through it. So why she still was feeling strange? Maybe not ’s presence, but maybe the not security presence she felt usually, perhaps the fact probably didn’t come back too.
So, fear hit her hard. And what if the killer had entered the house and killed ? She found him dead in a room if she leaved the bedroom? Questions without answer - unless she walked in the apartment - invaded her mind. In a strange instinct, took the phone from her pocket and noticed eleven missed calls, all of and all less than an hour ago. What would have happened? Called back, but the number dropped in the mailbox.
"Okay, take a deep breath and leave the room," was all that thought, eyes closed and shaking the phone in her hands. She did what her thoughts told to and took a deep breath, letting all the weight out of her lungs. Her eyes stopped on the top drawer of the dresser. The desire to open it that evening was driving her crazy, it was probably this ridiculous feeling of curiosity that was chasing. As a flashing neon saying "OPEN ME!" She opened the drawer, revealing only garments of , his scent impregnated into parts. She touched the shirts with her hand, stroking them and felt something hard underneath one of them. She got up and ran into a silver ring stained red. What the hell was that? Approached the face and can see that it was a commitment ring and, worse, the stains were blood. With her heart pounding in her chest, tried to read from the inside.

FOREVER UNITED SOMEHOW - DIVINEY (15/01/2005)

- What are you doing? – A furious voice invaded the room.
The fright and fear invaded her, making her drop the ring fell and made the loudest sound ever heard in her life when it touched the floor. ’s ring.

- I made you a question, , what you have to do is answer! - said, now getting closer.
- What have you done to ? - That's all she could say, feelin the fear giving her tears.
He stopped walking and took the ring on his hand. Squeezed it tightly, as if the silver would dissolve on his hand.
Before she could realize, jumped on the bed and soon returned to the floor and out the door and running through the dark apartment. Her heart pounded when almost came close to opening the door knob, but at the same time, grabbed both her wrists and slammed it on the wall beside the door.
- Why do you have to mess with my stuff? - He whispered menacingly. – Why didn’t you stay safe, not knowing this?
Tears escaped the corners of her eyes. Could no longer see him as the she hugged and let get close. It wasn’t the same person.
- You're hurting me. - it was all she said, feeling numb hands due to the firmness with which he held her.
As her tears and her supplication draw back the murderer of her Clemmensen, he released her, but remained close.
- I never meant to hurt you. - he whispered, as an apology.
This finally gave her the courage to raise her eyes to face him. The tears kept her from seeing clearly, but can see the sadness in his eyes. He seemed really sorry to have held her insured but not sorry to what he had actually done had done: killed her best friend.
- I won’t go out killing more people out there as if I had to do. But I had to do that.
- Why? - Gotta say.
- Because they all caused me trouble for years, . You saved me. You and . I would never do anything with you but ... With them ... There was no way not to do.
That dried her throat and another question was uttered. turned around and walked away, as fast as she can, she opened the unlocked door and ran barefoot down the stairs.
- ! - You heard him yelling behind him.
She couldn’t stop, it was just run. Run and not look back.
was not there to help her bear it. She just needed to get away from , if she wanted to live.
spent hours on the street. At dawn, sitting and leaning on a pole on a street that you could see the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Her breathing was a little calmer. The place wasn’t far from her home because she was up and walking barefoot, but there was nowhere to run so she just kept running. didn’t follow her, even for the first block, just let he go. The images of him killing the first two girls, and invaded her mind. Why the hell did he do it? What they have done was years ago he shouldn’t care anymore. But he does. cared.
She didn’t know how much she had cried while she was there. She cried for , and not being what she expected. Besides showing that his anger was what mattered most, showed that all ’s efforts of making him forget what had happened was in vain, like all the time she spent with him, cultivating something that - for her - came to see something in the near future. Mere illusion. She would never like to continue with her plans with that she met a few hours ago.
His cell phone rang many times while she was there every time with 's name or their number flashing on the display. But now, revealed ’s name. Answered even though if was acting normally, he could dearly have asked his cell phone to try to talk to her.
- Hello? - Whispered to whoever was listening to her.
- ? Where the hell are you? - called her. - is with you?
- Uh, I'm somewhere... - She said, not wanting to give more answers. - And no, isn’t with me.
- What happened with you two? - He mumbled. - It's almost 6:30am in the morning, on a Saturday, who are you two to leave so soon?
- is not at home right? - In a moment she asked, and heard an affirmative answer. -I'm going there.
was sitting on the couch when the girl came in, defeated. was still wearing the same clothes as the night before, when he left, but looking tired and worried. His eyes widened to see his friend’s condition, and ran to her, holding her by the shoulders, causing them to retreat.
- What happened? - He asked, seeing that if he touches her, she would break.
- is not here? - She asked, looking around.
- His room door is closed, I didn’t dare to open. But when I come in and called him out he says, today he didn’t respond and I didn’t see you here, so I assumed that might have went out, or whatever.
looked down the hall, the Clemmensen’s room door was really closed, but didn’t know if he wasn’t there or was locked up, until go and see.
- Let’s go, I’ll open the door – she said, more brave than she should be, and he followed her.
She touched the doorknob, and for a minute, wanted to see him sleeping, resting, or that she woke up once and for all this was nothing but an absurdly long and scary nightmare. However, she found out that the door was unlocked.
The room that used to be the most organized of all, was chaos. The closet, normally closed, was open, revealing things we never believe if say, the weapons that should have used to kill each victim. The chests were opened, clothes thrown everywhere, as well as the roles that were on the desk, hours ago. On the bed lay a revolver, a dirty knife apparently used that day, with a paper she saw two rings. knew who they belonged to.
- What--
- killed Phoebe, Diana, and .
just looked terrified to the arsenal in the closet and the sheet was stained with the blood on the knife.
- He killed himself? - Risked asking, his voice failed.
didn’t answer, just walked to the middle of the room, an empty feeling in the chest and the tears streaming down her face. She took and ’s ring and held it in her hands, noticing that the paper on the bed was a note. She glanced quickly and in the end, was clinging to a desperate and crying like a child. Curious and at the same time afraid of what happened that morning, took the note in his free hand while the other was concerned with the fondling of her friend's hair and soothe her in a way that didn’t even know if he could. Fear invaded his eyes to read the words written by who forced the pen on paper, causing marks that now represented the anger that could be while writing. But still, the words were sad.

I wonder what is going on in your head, . May all your help was in vain, that hasn’t changed me. Well, basically, it didn’t really changed, I confess, yet learned I could not simply get rid of you and like the others. You did nothing wrong, just did good, thinking it was working. It wasn’t, but I pretended to, because I could see the smile of every one of you with my fake improvements. Years have passed and the revenge was becoming ever closer, I was just waiting the right moment to do so, for example, the fact that Diviney asked Larrisa in marriage. The question is how do I know? Well, don’t think conversations with them were restricted. It’s because of them that I tracked their new homes.Anyway, I couldn’t explain it to you and now I won’t have how to do this . Just know that you were the only ones that would make my life worth living when she was never real.

EPILOGUE

- So, you really assume that Clemmensen killed the four Young, here in Sydney? – The detective asked.
- Yes Sir.
- And were you involved in this? Knew anything?
- No Sir.
- There’s something you want to share?
Helen looked up, staring at the old man's face in front of her.
They were exactly seven days since ... Since killed himself. Just a shot in his mouth, over the fence at the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The body was found in the water the funeral was on the same day, with the closed coffin had been made. They found the bodies of in her own apartment, was there showing that there were at least two days, and in his, but discovered only hours after the murder.
- had problems. Grudge, and over the years together, me and helped him improve it. He has improved, or pretended to improve, as you might read in the letter that he left a week ago. If there was something to hide I wouldn’t be the one who had called you into the apartment to investigate.
The man nodded, wrote down her words.
- Okay, thank you for your time, Miss .
She nodded her head slightly and left the room, then the police station, finding waiting on the sidewalk, hands in his pockets.
- Are you okay? - He asked, embracing her aside, while walking on the street.
- No - sighed. - Did you change the apartament's furniture?
- Yes - He said, sadly.
With ’s death, the girl didn’t look the same, then suggested that they move out of that apartment as soon as possible. Later in the week troubled, moved into an apartment closer to the center. Once stepped on the latest home both weary sigh. If it was difficult to deal with the death of their best friend, even more that he caused the deaths. But anyway, since the shelf of the television pictures were framed portraits. Those which had a special place in 's old room.
